Caption:
This German sighting telescope by Emil Busch was designed for use with a machine gun. Fitted with a graticule, a fine grid of lines, the telescope magnifies about two times allowing the user to accurately aim their weapon. The precision of firearms fitted with such optical sights was well demonstrated by the carnage of trench warfare during World War I.
